The small flower of the Indian Cress has been dried very carefully, making it possible to keep the photographic composition as transparent as possible.
With this ShadowBox, a very specific connection has been made between the main subject, the background and the design of the frame.
On the basis of the color and structure of the flower, a careful search was made for matching colors. With the Indian Cress this is visible in, for example, the aubergine color that connects the background to the flower.
The colors are applied with watercolor paint on a special surface, which creates the crackle effect. This surface was exposed and photographed at the same time as the natural material, so without digital interventions. This creates a fragile balance.
Colors in the frame design: yellow ocher, ivory black, oxide red and ultramarine blue.
Measurements: 44.6 cm wide, 30.4 cm high and 4.4 cm deep.
The ShadowBox is issued in a series of 30 certified standing or hanging versions.
