In designing the ShadowBox Rose I we went a step further in manipulating the natural material.
The basis of the performance is what used to be a blooming yellow rose wax. Making the flower translucent was a significant challenge. Only after cutting away a lot of material and drying it in a special way, it became apparent that more was possible in the photographic process. The heart of the flower remained intact, while the leaf acquired the necessary transparency.
In the background, which was photographed at the same time, we included the color accents of the flower’s decay.
The colors on the inside of the trim are: oxide red, magenta, black and yellow ocher.<
The frame of this ShadowBox is also covered with white damask. The entire frame is finished with a transparent varnish.
Measurements: 44.7 cm wide, 30.6 cm high and 4.4 cm deep.
The ShadowBox can be installed in upright or hanging version certified issued in a series of 30 copies.
